And 40 darks for this project Programs used: NINA to capture images and control everything. PHD2 for guiding. Pixinsight for stacking and editing. RC astro noiseXterminator and starXterminator. Photoshop About the image: I have been wanting to image this object ever since I started imaging 2 years ago. I thought I couldn’t image it from my backyard due to trees. But I managed to find a corner of the yard I could just see it over the trees. Unfortunately the sky conditions were not good. It was clear. But poor seeing conditions. And i had to deal with heavy smoke from a neighbors obnoxious outdoor fire all night long. And the occasional light fog rolling in. But here in the pacific north west. We don’t get many clear nights this time of year. And I really wanted to image this target with my new astro camera. This is the 3rd image I have taken with it now. So I just went for it anyway. And I’m glad I did! I think it turned out well. I used pixinsight to stack it with WBPP. I used SPCC for color calibration. And used starXterminator and noiseXterminator. Then I used the generalized hyperbolic stretch script in pixinsight. Then histogram transformation and curves. I then used photoshop to recombine the starless image with the stars. Then did a final contrast enhancement.
