Ama Dablam, meaning in Sherpa "The Mother's Necklace", probably the most beautiful mountain in the world, was compared several times with Matterhorn. Because a travel to see Ama Dablam would have been well beyond our means, my wife and I planned a vacation week, between 2 and 10 September, to Zermatt (1620m), in order to admire the Ama Dablam's European brother, the Matterhorn (4478m). We had three perfect days (the first, the second and the last) out of seven. As always, we got a "Hiking Unlimited Peak Pass" we traveled with on all open cables and rack railways around Zermatt. Four times we visited the highest viewing platform in Europe, at 3883m, on the Klein Matterhorn. I took my Nikon Coolpix P1000 camera with 125X optical zoom and I confess I will at all times make the effort to bear with its size and weight to get the distant mountain shots, as they were significantly better than those shot with the P900. Regarding the shooting information, please subtract one hour from the displayed time, because I forgot to change the time in the camera. Also, to find the "real" (35mm FF equivalent) FL, you should multiply the indicated FL with the sensor crop factor, which is 5.6: thus the 539mm FL gives an around 3000mm FL equivalent. Viewing tip: I've remarked that sometimes when zooming in an image, it remains blurry; the solution is to reload it.
