World Rural Development Day 2026 On 6 July 2026, the REC Seminar Hall, Sriniketan, hosted a meaningful celebration of World Rural Development Day, bringing together distinguished dignitaries, academicians, development practitioners, and alumni to reflect on the progress and future of rural development. The programme featured insightful addresses by Dr. Probir Kumar Ghosh, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Visva-Bharati; Shri Anup Kumar Saha, MLA, Dubrajpur Constituency, Birbhum; Ms. Anamika Majumdar, Special Secretary, Department of Panchayat & Rural Development, Government of West Bengal; Dr. Puspajit Sarkar, Director, Terai Tea Farmer Producer Company Limited, Siliguri; along with esteemed alumni of Rural Development, Visva-Bharati.
