Frankenmuth was founded in 1845 by a group of German immigrants from Bavaria who came to the area for the purpose of teaching Christianity to the Chippewa Indians. “Franken” is the province from where the settlers came and ”Muth” means courage in German. The name Frankenmuth means ”Courage of the Franconians.” The community is done in the style of the Bavarian Village to celebrate and maintain their heritage. There is a lot to see around here, and the flowers are beautiful.
