The Village opened in 1976 and consists of 95 acres of open land, farm land and over 35 structures that have been preserved or restored and relocated here. There are costumed guides in almost every building to explain and demonstrate what life was like in the 19th century. The main building is the Georgia Museum of Agriculture. This large building houses tractors, horse carriages and all kinds of farm equipment and farm tools used in the 19th century as well as pictures and history of Tifton.
