Benjamin, Cast Steel, NY, which presumably is for Timothy Benjamin, a maker of edge tools in New York City in 1836-1837. Some dinging and rust spots, handle clean and likely replacement and held in place with some sort of foam adhesive. Light pitting but nothing on backside near edge. Good (RUS56) 60 - 120 ~6701-175 Slick. Unmarked, 3-1/2 inch edge, 8-1/2 inch handle has wear and a few chips, looks original and is held on with screw. Some light rust and pitting, chip in corner of edge that needs honed out. Good (RUS55) 35 - 70 ~6701-176 Lot of two mortise chisels. 1/2 inch NEWBOULD, handle has crack where it meets chisel body, brass ring at end. And 5/8 inch one by W. BUTCHER, large iron ferrule at top of handle, repaired crack and wear to wood. Both have slight surface rust. Good (MSV) 40 - 80 ~6701-177 THOMAS DOUGLASS corner chisel. Stamped on one edge with the name of co-owner of Douglass Mfg Co. of Seymour, CT. 1-1/4 edges with pointed center, traces of japanning on stem, a few spots of rust. Good handle looks too new and likely replacement. Good (RUS63) 50 - 100 ~6701-178 Lot of two gooseneck mortise chisels. Large one by IBBOTSON with 1/2 inch edge, some spots of rust. And smaller unmarked one with 1/4 inch edge and brass ferrule on handle. Good (RUS58) 40 - 80 ~6701-179 Set of Japanese FUJIWARA SANGYO chisels. All but one have labels. Fujiwara Sangyo has been in operation since 1944 and these look to date to the 50s or 60s. 9 chisels from 1/8 inch to 1-1/2 inch in width, about half are bevel edge. Some staining on most, rust on a few, and could use a general cleaning but looks like chisels have seen little to no use. Inside original wood box, 16 inch by 10 inch, lid has a few cracks. Good (MSV20) 60 - 120 ~6701-180 SNOW & NEALLEY CO. axe head. Nicelabel 99% there, clean 4 inch edge, looks never used. Fine (MSV34) 50 - 100 ~6701-181 Lot of five chisels. Two 1/2 inch, one marked E. KELLEY and other marked J.W. MIX & CO. A 1 inch P.S. &W No. 1EX, and 1-1/4 inch HS&B CO. Plus a 1/2 inch corner chisel marked DOUGLASS MFG. CO.
