04-09-2018 Extreme Plants, Carnivores, Parasites, and Mutants with Sandy Masuo. Prior to her current position of Associate Editor in the Publi-cations Division of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, Sandy was a music critic and freelance journalist. Among the many publications that have featured her writing are the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Phoenix, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, and Rolling Stone. Sandy earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University, and later completed her master’s degree in education from Harvard. She lives in Burbank with her cats, Vlad and Rudy, plus a burgeoning collection of succulents. Sandy introduces us to the world of extreme plants, carnivores, parasites, and mutants. These plants might send shivers down our spines as we remember them mostly from Horror films. But thanks to Sandy's unique presentation we learn about these extraordinary plants' built-in mechanisms and creative sophistication. sandymasuo.com
